UPDATE: Citroën DS5 Price and release date announced !
Citroën UK has commissioned a series of 'cinemagraphs' - subtly moving images - to convey the personality and presence of the stylish New Citroën DS5 in a uniquely eye-catching format. These are the first official right-hand-drive visuals of the distinctive new Citroën flagship.
In a first for the automotive Industry, Citroën UK is launching the bold new DS5 flagship model in a style that is as unique as the car itself. A stunning series of ‘cinemagraphs’ – subtly moving images - have been created to show off Citroën DS5’s ‘Créative Technologie’ in the digital world. These are the first official right-hand-drive visuals of the distinctive new Citroën flagship.
The cinemagraphs which capture shots of both DS5's interior and exterior shots are the first official visuals of the right-hand drive version of DS5. Befitting a model that looks like no other on the road, Citroën UK wanted to convey DS5’s personality and presence with a fresh application of digital ‘Créative Technologie.’ Citroën UK commissioned automotive photographer James Lipman and design agency TIZA Creative to create the cinemagraphs. Popularised by New York-based photographer Jamie Beck and motion graphics artist Kevin Burg, cinemagraphs used the animated GIF file format to blend still photography with the movement of film.
A captured moment in time; at first glance new DS5 appears as still-life, before a brief moment of movement is revealed to add a hint of dynamism into each shot. In some, the movement is almost instantly apparent and in others, it takes a moment to notice the subtle change to the photograph.
Marc Raven, Communications Director at Citroën UK describes the new DS5 as “an attention-grabbing model” and says cinemagraphs could become the way we experience all new vehicles online in the future.
